Cannabinoids are a set of compounds found in industrial hemp. Your CBD Store® products are made using only high quality hemp grown in the USA. This phytocannabinoid-rich hemp has a naturally high cannabidiol level and an abundance of other cannabinoids (CBG, CBN, CBC), as well as flavonoids, and terpenes.

What is CBD? What does it stand for?

CBD is a phytocannabinoid, which is primarily found in industrial hemp. Increasingly, CBD-heavy
marijuana strains are also being bred. It stands for cannabidiol.

What is THC? What does it stand for?

THC is a phytocannabinoid, which is primarily found in marijuana, but also occurs at very low levels in
industrial hemp. It stands for tetrahydrocannabinol.

Will CBD get me high?

No, CBD is non-psychotropic and will not impair your mental function in any way. We like to think of CBD
as not giving the addition of a positive feeling, but rather, the subtraction of a negative feeling. So instead of feeling giddy or tingly, you should feel a happy neutral.

What is the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD oil?

CBD oil comes from the aerial parts of the hemp plant, while hemp seed oil comes from the seeds. Hemp seed oil is highly nutritious, yet does not contain the popular benefits of CBD; think of it as akin to a very healthy olive oil. If you see a product online that says “CBD oil” or “hemp oil” that is well below the prices of our products, this is almost certainly hemp seed oil instead of CBD.

Is CBD/hemp the same thing as marijuana?

CBD is sourced from industrial hemp. Industrial hemp has over 55,000 known uses. Hemp and marijuana are both plants in the cannabis family, but they have fairly different uses; think of them as similar to an apple versus a pear. Industrial hemp is high in CBD, and low in THC (which is the compound that gets you high). Marijuana is high in THC, and generally low in CBD.

Why do I have to take CBD with food? How much food do I have to take it with?

CBD is fat soluble, which means it needs to be taken along with a fat for maximum absorption. Taking CBD with food gives the CBD something to “stick” to, helping it to be more effective. CBD should not make you nauseous when taken on an empty stomach. Eating a full meal with CBD is not necessary; you can eat something small like a handful of nuts.

Why do you put the tincture under the tongue?

First/second pass refers to the compounds being metabolized by the liver.  People use sublingual as a method to bypass this process because the compounds go from those sublingual glands and straight to the blood stream, to the heart, then the brain and the rest of the body.  It's when you swallow the remainder of the oil that goes through first and second pass because its gone through the digestive tract, but whatever is absorbed sublingually does not. The rest of CBD oil is absorbed in your digestive tract.
